A-x-Myxomycetes

The project centers around myxomycetes, organisms that possess their own individuality and influence how electrical currents flow through their mediations. Acting as conductors of signal flow, these organisms control resistance, shaping the soundscape produced by the sculpture.

Myxomycetes have something that humans might describe as memory. They remember past interactions and use this knowledge to inform their future decisions. However, the exact nature of their thought processes remains a mystery to us.
